"Where Music and Vision Meet"

I too, have a Dream. The time has come for women and men, girls and boys to walk along side each other in genuine equality. It is time that the feminine live fully in authentic partnership with the masculine in all ways. For over a century, we, as women have been trying to organize ourselves in a way that honors the feminine, the planet we live on, and brings our Voice to the forefront, equal with the masculine. This, for now, for our children and for the generations to come. Today, womens voices primarily represent the voice of the feminine. Many men have yet to embrace their feminine energy. It is the job of Women to Voice our Strengths and Move Forward Together in a way that builds bridges with Men. We, as Women, need to own our own masculine energy in a positive way, one that does not diminish our feminine energy or any other life. Of course, this is the challenge when it appears we need to compete. But we do not need to compete. We can co-create. To date, the balance of power has rested with Men. Most men have not been readily willing to consider this imbalance of power: economically, socially and politically, never mind consider sharing. As Jimi Hendrix once said, When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. Today, Women do two-thirds of the worlds work but receive only 10% of the worlds income and own less than 1% of land. Women in many cases are the primary care givers, and balancing the challenges of work and family are complex. Globally there is still a gender pay gap, a lack of women parliamentarians, and women's health overall around the world is worse than that of men. In my lifetime, I want to see the volunteer sector, made up of mostly women, become a paid sector. I want to see a world where we put our contributions where our values are. I want to see women paid well for their incredible roles and work in being primary care-givers. I want to see a world where women and girls do not have to fear becoming a commodity, for someone elses pleasure and economic gain. I want to see a world where women and girls do not have to fear being raped and abused. I want to see a world where women and girls stand tall and claim their fair and just place in the world. In my lifetime, I want to see a world where men and boys become courageous and get to know themselves with their hearts, where they know the truth about what is fair and just. I want to see a world where men share their privilege of power and economic status because it is the fair and just thing to do. I want to see a world where men and boys are given the opportunity and space to experience their feelings and express them. To cry, to say they are afraid, to be accepted as whole beings. To be gifted the opportunity to learn new ways of dealing with anger rather than engaging violent behavior. To be honored as they choose not to go to war. The time has come and the time is now. There is not ever a better time than NOW. We can choose to come together and co-create a fair and just world for all. World Peace is not only POSSIBLE, it is inevitable. Make our choice NOW, one woman, one man, one girl, one boy at a time, each lighting our own candle that, together burns so bright we will know and deeply feel the strength of LOVE. Welcome! With Sophias International Womens Work Projects (SIWWP) 2009-2011, we have a three-year vision for contributing to a well-connected dynamic and Ourstory in the making! Centenary of International Womens Day, Tuesday, March 8, 2011. From NOW, we have just over two years together to bring this vision to fruition Synchronizing Intention With World Peace SIWWP events and gatherings invite Women and Men... of all ages... and backgrounds... Last year, you may be aware that UNIFEMs campaign, Say NO to Violence Against Women, received over 5,000,000 names from around the world. The original goal was for 1,000,000 names. This speaks volumes! Registered 2009 International Women's Day events around the world were up 300 events from 2008, currently 984 in 64 countries. Canada had 132, with Saskatchewan offering a good portion of those. Saskatoon events were SOLD OUT or filled to capacity. On March 8, 2009, Voicing Our Strengths and Moving Forward Together, an International Womens Day event, was shared by over 100 people, a partnership between United Nations Association in Canada Saskatoon Branch and The Mendel Art Gallery, in Saskatoon. We included 13 minutes of Drumming Around the World in Honor of the Feminine in all Life. Following in the footsteps of this beautiful gathering, we embarked on a journey Weaving Womens Voices, a multi-media celebration, March 13 April 8, and 11 community visits through primarily rural Saskatchewan, celebrating and raising awareness: Avonlea, Willow Bunch, Lebret, Rivehurst, Gravelbourg, La Ronge, Hawarden, Moose Jaw, Regina, Herschel and Assiniboia. We are strengthening the wings of the momentum that is growing with womens work and raising the voice of feminine energy such that there is shared flight between the masculine and feminine. As May Cummings, United Nations Association in Canada Saskatoon Branch, said after participating in 2008s International Womens Day event in Saskatoon: Your insights that each one of us needs to harmonize the feminine and the masculine within ourselves rang so true and we need to find ways to engage men in this process. I see the feminine and the masculine as wings on the bird of humanity. Until both wings are developed, the bird cannot fly. So in order for us to soar we need each other. During all the preparatory work for the past number of months, the discovery of last year being the 100th anniversary of Mothers Day was made. It went by unnoticed. Unbelievable really and yet, until womens work is tracked and truly counted in as part of our historical fabric, herstory, becoming ourstory So, with the 101st year of Mothers Day this year, the 99th year of Father's Day and the 100-year celebrations of womens day, we are embarking on a new era. FRESH PERSPECTIVES for Women and Men in a New Era (I) Uncovering, Recovering, Discovering Our Stories May 25/26, 2009 - POSTPONED to September 2009 www.picatic.com/ticket/FreshPerspectives POSTPONED to SEPTEMBER 2009 - look for details coming soon... thank you for your patience.

I could feel the wet grass between my fingers and toes and the warm water shower my body like a warm hug and the smell m-m-m-m-m my spirit so free it wasnt long before the ridicule and name calling, Youre just being a show-off wore on my soul and I stopped doing cartwheels. When I wrote this song , I reclaimed another part of my little girl and freed my spirit some more it is my wish and commitment to support all children and young people, as well as adults to gift themselves the freedom of spirit to voice-express their own cartwheel and mandala of the soul whatever form that may be!
